What led you to work in the field of structural engineering?

As a child, I was always fascinated with architectural designs. I often considered some designs as pieces of art. Growing up, I would frequently draw buildings and loved taking photos of interesting structures when I traveled. As I got older, I knew I wanted to be in the architectural field in some way but wasn't sure which path to take. Then, I realized I wanted to work on beautiful buildings behind the scenes. I was always interested in how buildings were constructed and how they held themselves up. This led me to explore the structural engineering side of the field. Once I made this discovery, I knew it was exactly what I wanted to do.

What do you enjoy most about working for Linton Engineering?

I believe the best part for me here is that I get to work with an amazing group of people with so much knowledge and experience. Linton Engineering is also a wonderful place to work because we all work together, and it never feels like you're alone. We like to treat each other as family here, and our communication with one another is strong. I'd also like to add that we get to work on amazing projects that come with many incredible and unique designs.

How has the firm changed over the years?

The firm has changed in a positive way, and we have come a long way since I have been here. We started as a smaller group, and now we are a larger firm. This growth shows just how much the firm has improved. We also made the switch to being a full Revit office. This gives us the ability to work on more projects and makes us more competitive. Our projects continue to improve and are increasing in scale, especially as we venture into the commercial world.

What has been your favorite Linton project and why?

My favorite Linton project has been the Cotter Residence, located on Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. This home is in the exclusive community of Indian Beach, just one lot away from the ocean. I found it interesting because it is not your typical home in a regular community. This project also challenged me to do something new and see a different side of structural design. Everything about this home is unique and different. It is unlike anything else I have ever done. This project holds a special place in my heart and was one of the first large projects to which I contributed.
