What led you to work in the field of structural engineering?

I took a circuitous route to work in my field. Despite having various jobs, I have always been intrigued by the engineering field and the intricacies of construction. My interest piqued when I took a drafting class in high school, which prompted me to learn AutoCad and eventually progress to Revit. This journey ultimately brought me to Linton Engineering after 15 years of searching, where I am finally doing what I love.

What do you enjoy most about working for Linton Engineering?

One of the aspects I find most enjoyable about working for LE is the diversity of projects that come our way. From schools and residential properties to commercial buildings and historical renovations, each project presents unique challenges and prevents monotony from setting in.

As one of the newest team members, what are your initial impressions of LE?

LE impresses me with its willingness to embrace modern work methods and explore alternative approaches to achieve better and more efficient results. Additionally, the strong sense of family within the company stands out to me. Having experienced only one other job where employees and management genuinely cared for one another, it is refreshing to be in such an environment once again.

What has been your favorite Linton project and why?

My favorite LE project thus far has been the Westbrook Lane Residence. This expansive house showcases numerous captivating features, including a dedicated library, a fireplace, and a basketball court. The unique design of the house presented both challenges and excitement, making it a truly enjoyable project to work on.

What is the best advice you have received?

The best advice I have received is to never stop learning. By actively listening to suggestions, asking questions, and remaining open to acquiring new knowledge, I can continuously improve myself and become a better employee.
